For reference, I read 5 books in 2015. Here is the list:
1. The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins
2. The Martian by Andy Weir
3. The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu
4. Blindsight by Peter Watts
5. Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett
Wow. That is not a lot. I guess it is good to get this challenge going.

2016 reading list
This year, I will be reading one book every two weeks (26 books total). At the end of each two week period, I will post a little review of the book. I was inspired by a post on reddit that claimed a desire to read 52 books in a year. Apparently there is a whole subreddit on it (www.reddit.com/r/52book). There is a website dedicated to this goal (http://www.read52booksin52weeks.com). A quick search seems to show this to be a common goal for people looking to challenge themselves
52 seems to big for me right now. I will start with 26. Apparently, 26 in a year is so easy, it has to have a theme (http://burns-familyblog.blogspot.com/p/26-books-challenge.html)
I think it'll be easier to stay disciplined if I schedule my book list and order ahead of time. Here it is:
1. The Dark Forest by Cixin Liu
2. The Periodic Table by Primo Levi
3. Then We Came to the End by Joshua Ferris
4. Neither Here Nor There by Bill Bryson
5. Matterhorn by Karl Marlantes
6. The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson
7. Hitch-22 by Christopher Hitchens
8. Choke by Chuck Palahniuk
9. Men at Arms by Terry Pratchett
10. Seeing Further by Bill Bryson
11. Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan
12. The Technician by Neil Asher
13. Looking for Alaska by John Green
14. The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins
15. Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates
16. Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman
17. Einstein by Jürgen Neffe
18. Good Omen by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
19. The Guns of August by Barbara Tuchman
20. Death's End by Cixin Liu
21. The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
22. The Stars, Like Dust by Isaac Asimov
23. Chasing the Scream: The First and Last Days of the War on Drugs by Johann Hari
